Donington Park is one of the most well-known racing circuits in the world, with a long-standing reputation for hosting major national and international motorsport events.
Each year, the circuit welcomes the FIM Superbike World Championship, regarded as a highlight of the global bike racing calendar. Other popular fixtures include the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, and appearances from the British GT and GB3 series. The venue also plays host to British Truck Racing, the Donington Historic Festival, the Classic Motorcycle Festival, and a wide range of club-level car and bike events throughout the year.
Beyond motorsport, Donington Park is equally famous as the home of the Download rock festival, which draws tens of thousands of music fans annually. The venue also hosts a variety of exhibitions, shows and concerts throughout the year, making it a versatile destination for large-scale entertainment and cultural events.
Donington benefits from a central location, with Derby, Nottingham and Leicester all within easy reach, and Birmingham less than an hour away. The circuit is close to key transport links including the M1, A50 and A42, and is just two miles from East Midlands Airport.
In 1993, Donington Park was the site of the European Formula One Grand Prix, a race remembered for Ayrton Senna’s extraordinary wet weather drive, widely considered one of the greatest laps in the history of the sport.
